GEOGRAPHER'S HANDBOOKCongratulations! The Adventures in Learning Discovery Team has cleared you to join them as an explorer trainee. This phase of your training will be conducted by Seymour Terrain, a world renowned geographer.

PART 1 - LANDFORMSToday you will journey with Seymour to various landforms throughout the world. If you take great notes, by the time you return you will be able to:

PART 2 - REGIONSAs you visit the various regions of the world, Seymour will explain how weather, climate, and geography work together to cause some places in the world to be hot and other places cold, some wet and others dry. Keep up with your notes so that, by the time you return, you will be able to describe the following regions and plot their locations on a world map. (See World Map below.)

PART 3 - OCEANS, SEAS, LAKES AND RIVERS Today you will get to take a short ocean dive with Seymour, then you will explore some of the other water features on our planet. If your Handbook is still dry by the time you return, you should be able to:

PART 4 - WETLANDS, ISLANDS, PENINSULAS, CAPES AND MORETodays geographic features involve both water and land. Since you are nearing the end of your training with Seymour, you will have lunch on an island before returning home. If you've paid close attention and have kept up with your notes, you ought to be able to:

GEOGRAPHY HANDBOOK BREAKDOWNAs an Explorer Trainee, you're probably a little overwhelmed at this point. Here's a little breakdown of what you need in your Geographer's Handbook.
Section 1) Introduction - Tell a little about yourself, why you want to join the Adventure team and, if you make it, what you'd like your Adventure name to be. (i.e. Your teacher is known as Cynthiana Jones! That's our secret.) Section 2) Geographic Features Notes and Illustrations - These are the daily Handbook entries on:
Section 3) Conclusion - Now that you've traveled the globe, pick 3 different locations that each have a unique geographical feature you'd like to see. Tell about each location and describe the feature. You can talk about things like:
Once you pass the Trainee phase and are cleared to join the Discovery Team, we'll make sure to include you on the first expedition that heads out to one of the locations that you named.
